best laid plans

Because we forgot the USB cord for our camera, I have no way of posting my recent moleskine entry to my blog. So instead, check out this post about the Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism exhibit that we attended at the North Carolina Museum of Art on Monday.

PSNC art show this month in Blowing Rock, NC

I have two paintings in a group show with the Pastel Society of North Carolina at The Upstairs Art Gallery in western NC this month. I was going to submit one dog portrait and one landscape, but the organizer requested more figurative work because most of the entries were landscape and still life. So, Riesling the Wise and Dog Days of Summer were carted off to Blowing Rock late last week. The show runs through November 19.

trying something new for a show in western NC

The Pastel Society of North Carolina is sponsoring a show at The Upstairs Gallery in Blowing Rock, NC for two weeks in early November. I’ve decided to show the Riesling portrait, titled “Riesling the Wise” (thanks, Eric) and a landscape I am doing of the Great Arch in Zion National Park. I don’t typically do landscapes, but I didn’t do pets at one point either. I’m committed, so it’s now or never. Progress coming soon.
